Bruce Pavey is an Oklahoma artist who first took up painting about seven years ago as a weekend hobby. Since retiring in 2023, he has been able to devote much more time to painting, and what began as a part-time hobby has now become a full-time passion. A self-taught artist, Bruce particularly enjoys painting small landscapes, finding it both challenging and rewarding to instill a sense of space and distance in such small formats. Working in both oils and acrylics, most of Bruce’s paintings depict modern scenes from his travels in Alaska, Hawaii, and the Great American West. More recently, he has developed an interest in the “Western” genre, and many of his new pieces portray historically accurate scenes and characters from the Old West. Bruce is a member of the Alpha Rho Tau Civic Art Association, and is represented locally at the Sky Gallery, 1401 E. 11th St. (In the Meadow Gold District), Tulsa, Oklahoma, and in Colorado at the Blue Moose Gallery, 4032 S. College Ave., Fort Collins, CO.
