SKIP’S MUSIC’S “STAIRWAY TO STARDOM” RETURNS THIS SUMMER!!An innovation in music education in Northern California since 1981,
the Stairway to Stardom summer music program has built a legacy of providing young
musicians with a unique creative outlet, in a safe and productive environment for over 40 years.
The original “rock band camp,” which has paved the way for many other music education
programs all over the country, is now preparing for its first summer season to be held in the brand new SKIPS MUSIC store and facility in Sacramento.
Stairway to Stardom is an eight-week music summer school designed for young
amateur musicians, (Ages 10 – Teens). The program, which starts next month, gives
participants the chance to write, rehearse, perform, and record music at a professional
level. Skip’s Music, a local Sacramento business for over 50 years, provides expert
mentors, rehearsal space, professional equipment, and recording studio time.
The Stairway to Stardom curriculum also includes an invaluable series of seminars hosted by
music industry specialists, with topics including performance, songwriting, music
business, recording, and collaboration. The highlight of the program however, is always the big
final concert, where all of the young participants get the chance to perform on a big
stage with full production in front of a large audience of family, friends and fans!
Introductory meetings will be held on Saturday, May 11th and Saturday, May 18th at 11:00am.
The Stairway to Stardom program director, Jeffry Wynne-Prince will be on site at SKIPS MUSIC (4614 Madison Ave., Sacramento) to answer any questions and offer guidance.
** The deadline for player registration and enrollment is Saturday, May 18th.
And, mark your calendars now and plan to attend the concert on Sunday, July 28th at Goldfield Trading Post in Roseville.
