Please join me for a winter outing to ski and snowshoe along the Dumoine River, as well as engage in learning about the wilderness that surrounds it and wisdom and stories of people that have travelled in these landscapes.You can become acquainted with recent and not so recent developments in this area thanks to a recent article written by Wally Shaber for the Nastawgan.
This trip is suitable for backcountry skiers and snowshoers who are used to spending a whole day in the wilderness (without cell phone coverage).
Accommodation: rustic cabins and/or a canvas tent with a stove
Cost: $600 (this covers accommodation, membership in Friends of Dumoine; snowmobile support and administration of the trip)
Some of the days, we are travelling between cabins and some days, we are doing a loop out of a cabin. The length of your ski and snowshoe days is always somewhat flexible.
We have a snowmobile support for moving our baggage from hut to hut; and moving participants as needed between cabins and ski trails.
