About this Event
In this course, you will learn the building blocks of writing great sketch comedy. We will look at different sketches from television and stage to see what makes them work and will explore character, setting and the elements of a good scene. By the end of this 8-week course you will translate your idea into a fully fleshed-out sketch.
Prerequisites: None! Email [email protected] with questions.
Dates: This class runs Mondays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, starting March 24th and running for 8 weeks. A showcase will be scheduled as an additional opportunity on an evening during the week of May 18th.
Instructor: Julia Lewis
Julia Lewis has been writing and performing comedy since 2015. At Coalition, she’s appeared with sketch house teams Egg Group and Submarine and produced two seasons of Coalition’s Unofficial Taskmaster Live. She also took about 5 weeks of UCB Improv 101, if you want to count that. Outside of comedy, Julia sells books, makes art, and often lets her Regal Unlimited pass go to waste.
COST: $250 (Early Bird $220)
