Monday through Friday, July 31 - August 4, 10 am to 3 pm. Early drop off/late pickup by arrangement.
Excused Absence is thrilled to hold our first summer of Comedy Camps at ColdTowne's new theater located at 1700 East 2nd Street - we can't wait for everyone to see it.
Write, perform and produce an original sketch comedy performance using a writer's room approach. The work is collaborative and process based with opportunities for both writing and performing. Though previous Improv/Sketch experience is not required, this is a camp for young performers ready to do the work and does include collaborative sketch writing. 10 am to 3 pm: $325.
Daily schedule includes Improvisation exercises, collaborative sketch writing, performance, socializing, and the occasional dance party or side project. Class groups are organized by focus and age as appropriate. Transition times, breaks, and social activities are generally combined.
Campers will share their work with family and friends on the final day at 3 pm.
Students should bring a bagged lunch and a water bottle. At this time, masks are not required. We respectfully ask that students experiencing symptoms of illness stay home. $325.
