Kathina, in the context of Theravada Buddhism, refers to the ceremonial presentation of robes and other requisites to the monastic community (Sangha) at the end of the three-month rains retreat (Vassa). It is a significant event, rooted in the Buddha's time, where lay people express their generosity and support for the monks. The term also refers to the wooden frame (Kathina) used to measure and sew the robes. We would like to invite all devotees to participate in this meritorious event by offering robes, alms bowl or requisites to the members of the Sangha in Seck Kia Eenh during the event.
The robes, alms bowls and requisites may be obtained from SKE on a donation basis as follows: -
1. Robes at RM120.00 per set
2. Alms bowl at RM50.00 per bowl
3. Requisites at RM40.00 per bag
You may donate through our Hong Leong Bank account number 026-0010-2856 and forward proof of donation to 011-55033788.
