This event is a dance party for fusion dancers and dancers of all ages, styles, and levels. Fusion dance is a style that encourages creativity by encouraging dancers to take inspiration and principles from different dance disciplines and apply them to different songs and situations.
Rules & Expectations
If these rules are broken you may be asked to leave and potentially banned from attending future events.
1. Be Respectful - We expect everyone to be respectful, to practice physical safety on the dance floor, and to respect each other’s boundaries. This event is an inclusive space for all walks of life so harmful behavior such as hate speech, coercion, and nonconsensual touch would violate these expectations and you will be asked to leave.
2. Consent and Communication - Clearly communicate your
intentions and comfort level with your dance partners. Consent is a gift that can be withdrawn at any time and this must be respected.
3. Floorcraft - Be mindful of other dancers and their space. Every dance style has a unique way of interpreting and expressing movement on the dance floor and as we fuse them all together and enjoy the music, please make sure to be mindful of others around you and yourself.
4. Photography & Recording - Photos and videos are allowed, but please ask for permission and consent first, especially if you are recording or taking photos of other people. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, so be ready to delete any photos or videos if people no longer consent to be in them.
5. COVID-19 - Vaccinations will not be checked. Masks are highly encouraged. If you are sick or feel off at all, please stay home for your sake and others. NOTE - this change will be subject to continued consideration if we continue to hold events and if we see that these events become disease spreader events of any kind.
6. RSVP to this event on Facebook or message the organizers ahead of time if you are inviting people who don't have Facebook so we can keep track of attendance. There is no set cap of attendees, but we want to make sure that we aren't overwhelmed the day of and can plan things like refreshments accordingly.
