Community Emergency Response Team Training (CERT) - October 2024
T his class will be held in English using one ZOOM session and two In-Person Days
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is a 20-hour all hazard training offered by the Office of Emergency Management (OEM). The training is designed for residents to protect themselves, their family, their neighbors, and their neighborhood in an emergency situation.

- Friday, October 11, Zoom session (6 pm - 10 pm)
In-Person
- Saturday, October 12th (8 am - 5 pm)
- Saturday, October 19th "SKILLS DAY" (8:00 am – 5:00 pm)
- Bascom Community Center, 1000 S. Bascom Ave, San José, CA 95128
IMPORTANT:
- You must be registered and receive an email confirmation to attend the classes
- A ZOOM link will be sent to you prior to the first class
- Attendance is required at all sessions for CERT qualification
This class is open to anyone over the age of 18 who lives or works in San Jose. High school students are welcome to attend if accompanied by a parent.
At this training, you will learn essential skills to effectively respond to emergencies and assist your community in times of need. Our experienced instructors will guide you through various scenarios, teaching you first aid, search and rescue techniques, fire safety, and more.
