Coming all the way from Mexico, Ray Gomez is first gracing the Bachata Cultural Festival in Calgary and will be teaching some amazing fast footwork and mambo shine classes there as well as a bootcamp you don't want to miss! 🕺🏻🔥 Ray is additionally coming to Edmonton to host a sizziling salsa and bachata workshop on Weds June 26th 7-10pm. Yes we know it is not the weekend but he flies back Thursday so it's a treat to have him be able to bring his international dance skills to our Edmonton dance scene! These workshops will differ from those in the Bachata Cultural Festival with more focus on technical foundations.

The focus of these workshops will be on: body movement, rhythm, musicality, footwork and partner work (appropriate for all levels)

🔥 8-9pm: Bachata Heat
🕺🏻9-10pm: 1 hour dance social/practice 💃🏻

BACKGROUND of RAY GOMEZ
Ray Gomez is a professional dancer and teacher of Latin rhythms and has owned 4 dance schools in his hometown Luis, Pontoisi, Mexico 🇲🇽 Ray began dancing at the age of 11 in Son and K-ché with his maestro Salvador Jasso.
Ray worked relentlessly on his skill in Salsa dancing both in solo work and partner work, Afro-cuban movements, fast Mambo footworks and in various styles including Cha Cha Cha, Boogaloo and Pachanga. He is known across Mexico as one of the top Mambo dancers and instructors and has stepped on the biggest stages nationwide as a soloist and sharing the stage with Ernesto López and Enrique Jarquin on multiple occasions 🌟
🥇 Ray won first place in Mi Swing 2019, second place in Fusión Salsa Fest 2021, Second and third place in Guanajuato Salsa Congress 2022. Ray continues to travel nationwide in Mexico giving workshops at the largest national congresses. Last year Ray traveled to Canada being an invited guest artist for the Bachata Y Cultural Festival hosted by Nino Acosta and has been invited back for a second year in a row - which is one of the reasons he is back in Canada in June! 🇨🇦
🕺🏻 Ray is a former director of The Latin Warrior Dance Team and owner of Dancer’s House. He has created a vast following with his unique and energetic style that he teaches. He currently partners with Gaby Equis for various local dance shows and teaches at Martín Gonzalez’s studio 29
He has furthered his training and teaching in Bachata styles these past couple years and will be bringing some of that heat and flavor to the workshop 🔥🔥
