With the season - and the Rugby World Cup - well underway, it is time to look at bookings for our annual lunch (again at the Royal Scots Club in Edinburgh) and to give some preliminary details.As you will know, this event (and particularly a Calcutta Cup Lunch) is very popular, so please let us have notice of your booking as soon as possible.
We are delighted to confirm that Stuart Barnes, former England fly-half, well respected rugby journalist and now Sky Sports 'pundit' will be our principal speaker. Stuart is not afraid to speak his mind and we are sure he will prove to be a very interesting and engaging speaker. There will of course be the usual additional entertainment provided!
Kick off at Murrayfield is at 4.45 pm so we have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the occasion, but provisional timings are as follows:
• For those travelling from Dundee, the buses will leave Mayfield at 9.45 am sharp
• 11.00 am - meet in Royal Scots Club: both downstairs bars will be open from 10.45
• 12.30 pm - Lunch etc
• 3.35 pm - Buses depart for Murrayfield
• 7.30 and 8.30 pm - Return buses to Dundee leave Edinburgh (venue tbc)
Price:
Not yet confirmed, but we anticipate just a £5 increase on last year's prices (£70 & £90) to £75 (including bus transport from RSC to Murrayfield) or £95 including transport from/to Dundee. As you know catering and transport costs continue to rise and we have had to reflect this, but we hope you agree this still represents great value.
Please note that you should make your own arrangements regarding match tickets. We will try to help out with these if we can, but we anticipate having only a limited number available. For those without tickets, the match will, as usual, be shown in the Royal Scots Club.
We will be in touch early later on to confirm other arrangements, payment details etc but in the meantime please let us know if you would like to book places, or have any queries.
