Classes will be on Thursday mornings from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon with the following schedule:

  • February 26th - Communications: Connect Through Conversations
  • March 12th- Coaching: Moving People Forward
  • March 26th - Setting Goals and Reviewing Results
  • April 9th - Addressing Poor Performance
  • April 23rd - Building and Sustaining Trust
  • May 7th - Resolving Workplace Conflict

“This program is helping organizations build stronger leaders who can improve retention, performance, and workplace culture,” said Anne Moore-Sparks, President & CEO of the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce. “We’re excited to see this training return to our region, where leadership development is critical to business growth.”

The course equips current and emerging leaders with practical, behavior-based skills in communication, coaching, goal setting, performance management, trust-building and conflict resolution. Each four-hour session combines instruction with skills practice, group discussion, and real-world application.

Bert Eades, Business Development Director at GENEDGE, emphasized the long-term value: “When organizations invest in developing leaders, they see measurable impacts in employee engagement, retention, and productivity. This course is structured to give supervisors and managers the tools they need to lead with confidence and clarity.”

Local industry leaders agree on the program’s impact. Amelia Cheek, HR Business Partner at IperionX, shared: “Our leaders who attended past sessions came back more prepared to handle real challenges. They’re more effective coaches, better communicators, and stronger contributors to our culture.”

Education partners are also key to the program’s success. Chad Younger, Director of Workforce Services at Danville Community College, noted: “We’re proud to host this training on our campus. DCC is committed to supporting regional workforce development, and programs like this provide immediate and lasting benefits for local employers.”

This course is ideal for:

  • Mid-level managers: Professionals who are already in leadership roles and are looking to refine their skills.
  • Frontline supervisors: Those who are at the grassroots of operations and are responsible for immediate decision-making.
  • Aspiring supervisors: Employees looking to move up the ladder and take on more managerial roles.

Classes are capped at 20 for this session
Cost for all six classes is $1,500 per person
