Big Sit at Bentsen!Come join us at Bentsen State Park for a unique birding opportunity, a Big Sit. Big Sits can last for a few hours or a full 24. Our Big Sit at Bentsen will just be the morning of Sunday Oct 5th. Participants can come and go and help for a few minutes, or all morning. Staff will be on site trying to track down all the bird life at the Kingfisher Overlook and trying to catch as many as we can that are passing through. Dress for time in the sun and bring binoculars if you have them. Staff will have binoculars and spotting scopes to share with the public. Come learn about bird migration, citizen science and why Bentsen is such an important hotspot for birds.
Bring: Binoculars, Sunscreen, hat, water, comfortable shoes
Suggested Audience: All ages
Meet: Kingfisher Overlook in the day use area at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park.
Registration: No RSVP Required
Cost: Entry fee is $5 for ages 13 & older and FREE 12 & under (Park entry free with Texas State Park Pass.)
