HRP Group (HRP) will host guided tours of the former Potomac River Generating Station (PRGS) site in Old Town North on Friday, October 3, and Saturday, October 4, 2025. These public tours will give community members the chance to meet the project team and visit the site, which has been inaccessible to Old Town North for decades.
Visitors will also hear about the vision for transforming the area into a vibrant, welcoming, and walkable waterfront community featuring over 10 acres of new and improved publicly available open space with access to the waterfront. The project will introduce new art spaces, retail, commercial, and residential opportunities connected by a network of bike paths and pedestrian walkways.
Tours are available at the following times:
Friday, October 3, 2025
Tour 1: 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Tour 2: 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Tour 3: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Saturday, October 4, 2025
Tour 1: 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Tour 2: 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Tour 3: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Tours will last approximately one hour and require walking on uneven terrain. Participants must wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes and remain with their tour guide at all times.
