About this Event
Join Assist Women’s Network and Teesside Archives for a collaborative event celebrating the history of women’s suffrage on Teesside.
We are to get together on the anniversary of The Parliament (Qualification of Women) Act being passed which allowed women to stand for Parliament. We will be exhibiting material from various collections held by the archives which includes documents relating to Alice Schofield Coates, Middlesbrough’s first female councillor.
You, as always, have the opportunity to meet and network with like-minded women as we delve in to recent history and the life of this incredible local woman.
A visit to Teesside Archives is a special experience, it is so easy to become lost down that rabbit hole!
We would like to share a little about our Sisterwood project also on the day.
Give value to this opportunity as we deep dive in to history, do not take one of these limited spaces if you can't make it on the day. You are taking a ticket and the chance to share this experience from another Assist'er.
Check your calendar, get a 'Sisterwood Series' ticket and let us know you are coming...
