About this Event
A Healing Space for Black Birthing People
Every 2nd & 4th Tuesday • 6:00 – 7:30pm Starting August 26 | Sabathani Community Center, Conference Room H Free | Food provided
You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Join a warm and welcoming community where Black birthing people are seen, heard, and supported – just as they are.
The Sister Circle Support Group is a culturally affirming space designed to uplift and empower those in the perinatal period (pregnancy through one year postpartum). Whether you’re navigating the ups and downs of new parenthood or preparing for birth, this group offers the care and connection you deserve.
Led by Licensed Therapist Shaunequa James, each session is guided with compassion, cultural understanding, and a focus on mental and emotional wellness. Together, we’ll talk openly about the joys and challenges of this season of life, explore strategies for self-advocacy and healing, and build a supportive sisterhood you can count on.
Why Join?
- Feel seen and understood in a space where your experiences are affirmed—no explanations required.
- Care for your mental health with expert guidance to navigate stress, anxiety, depression, and more.
- Build real community with others who share your journey and offer encouragement and solidarity.
