Wilmington Drama League is hosting auditions for its upcoming production of Sister Act. Performances are May 29-June 14 (Fri/Sat @ 8, Sun @ 2). Rehearsals will begin the week of March 2nd and will take place three times a week to start, though not everyone is called every time. Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled for Mondays Wednesdays and Thursdays, but are subject to change based on the availability of the chosen cast. Important Note: The first two Tech Rehearsals will take place on Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day Weekend (5/24 & 25). All will be expected to attend unless otherwise discussed and approved by the production staff, so please make note of this scheduling detail before auditioning.

We are seeking a dynamic and diverse ensemble of actors 13 and older for WDL’s production of Sister Act. Wilmington Drama League is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in its work and encourages performers of all ethnicities, races, backgrounds, and gender expressions to audition.
We are exploring the possibility of casting a small ensemble of 4 children (age 10-12, 4’11” and under), depending on audition results. Anyone interested in being considered for this possible children’s ensemble (see above requirements), please submit a video of you singing 32 bars of a song that showcases your voice to Stage Manager Jared DeStafney at [email protected] by Sunday February 16th at 8 P.M.

Monday February 16th from 6:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. (Must Arrive and Check-In by 9 P.M.)
Wednesday February 18th from 6 P.M. to 10 P.M. (Must Arrive and Check-In by 9:30 P.M.)

WHAT TO PREPARE:
Please prepare 32 bars of a 70s Pop, R&B, or Disco song or a contemporary uptempo musical theater piece. We want to see something you love to sing and makes you happy. Please bring clearly marked sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Sheet music is strongly preferred, but a Bluetooth speaker will be available for tracks. You may pair with our speaker or bring your own, but proper amplification is required. Singing a capella or playing a track from a cell phone without amplification will not be accepted.
