About this Event

Sir Christopher Wren: His Vision, His Team and His Impact.

Join this walk, led by Caroline Powell, and discover many of Sir Christopher Wren’s glorious City of London churches, including St Paul’s Cathedral. Marvel at the architectural glory of Temple Bar, a remarkable building that has recently returned to the City of London, in pride of place, at the entrance to Paternoster Square after its removal from Fleet Street in the late 19 century. On the walk we will have the opportunity to visit a number of Wren’s Churches, including St. Stephen Walbrook, St Vedast-alias-Foster and St. Mary Abchurch. You will be introduced to the men who formed part of his team, including Edward Strong, the stonemason and Grinling Gibbons, the Anglo-Dutch sculptor and wood carver.
