Sips N’ Songs is bringing a taste of Nashville to Cedarburg!
Milwaukee’s very own accomplished singer-songwriter, Hanna Simone, is hosting this event.
It will take place at 2:00pm on July 7th at Art of Joy in Cedarburg.
Hanna organized Sips N’ Songs to give local artists the space to share their stories in an attentive setting. The evening will take place with 8 artists split into two rounds. Each round consists of every artist performing their songs in turn. They will share their stories and truth with the audience while shining light on the reality of life as a songwriter.
The early influence of songwriting artists Brandi Carlile, Jewel, and Adele was significant for Hanna. Her craft was authentically inspired by such vulnerable storytellers and she knew Nashville was a place to explore her curiosities in music. She visited Nashville regularly starting when she was 16, moved to Nashville when she was 18, and spent two years gathering knowledge and creative motivation. When Hanna returned home to Wisconsin she realized that Milwaukee has many songwriters that deserve time to share their creations and Sips N’ Songs was born.
We will end the evening with a special performance from “Alley Eyes” duo. ALLEY EYES EMERGES AS A VIBRANT FORCE IN MODERN GARAGE ROCK, HAILING FROM THE HEART OF THE MIDWEST - MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN. DRAWING INSPIRATION FROM ICONS SUCH AS ARCTIC MONKEYS, THE STROKES, AND THE MULTIFACETED ENDEAVORS OF DALLON WEEKES, ALLEY EYES SETS ITS SIGHTS ON SPEARHEADING A REVIVAL REMINISCENT OF THE INDIE SLEAZE SOUND OF THE EARLY 2000S.
This event will also serve as a fundraising evening for Partners with Paws, a non profit organization based out of Fredonia, WI that raises and trains service dogs to assist disabled individuals in order to improve their quality of life.
Partners with Paws is assisting a young girl named Hope in training her service dog, Meeko.
Here is Hope’s story:
“My name is Hope. I am 18 years old. I have struggled with my health my entire life from very serious infections to my body attacking itself to autoimmune issues to autonomic nervous system dysfunction and gastrointestinal paralysis. The latest neurological event in March of 2022 took my ability to talk, walk, use my hands, sot independently, long with taking all my memories and leaving cognitive deficits. I currently rely on a wheelchair and a feeding tube along with friends and families help.”
Proceeds from the evening will be gifted to Hope and the cost of training her service dog, Meeko.
Please join us to sip some of Art of Joy’s coffee, while experiencing local singer-songwriter camaraderie!
