Inspired by contemporary art? So is our Lockbox beverage team! Join us for our Sip & Tour on January 9th at 5pm! Our Museum Manager, Katharine, will lead you on a guided tour through our new exhibition, "Still,Life! Meaning and Mending in Contemporary Art’’, while you enjoy a special cocktail inspired by the artwork on display.
This month’s cocktail, The Little Edie, is inspired by Portia Munson’s ‘The Garden’ and the interesting and eccentric personality of Edith Bouvier Beale aka “Little Edie”. Both subjects have a bright, colorful, playfulness to them, along with some chaos. The Little Edie catches your eye with a vivid pink hue and a white cosmo resting on top. The cocktail captures botanical and floral flavors with the use of gin and a homemade rose syrup, along with bitter and sour notes from Campari and lemon juice. A top of Prosecco is used to give the Little Edie a light and refreshing finish. This cocktail pays homage to the visually satisfying artistry and delicacy of each item arranged in Portia Munson’s installation, the youthful, unique, and flighty character of Little Edie Beale, and the presence of beauty and comfort amidst chaos.
Tickets are $20 and include the guided tour and an art inspired cocktail. (Attendees must be 21+)
