Welcome to Sip and Make Art: Hmong Themed Moss Art!
Join us on Sat, Aug 10 2024 @ 4pm for a fun and creative event where you can sip on your favorite drinks while creating beautiful Hmong themed moss art. Let your creativity flow as you learn about the traditional Hmong culture and art style.
No experience is necessary. Paaj will guide students. All materials will be provided, so just bring yourself and your artistic spirit. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to create your own masterpiece!
About Moss Wall & Display Art:
Moss art is a modern art style using preserved pieces of nature such as moss, driftwood, floral, and reclaimed Hmong textiles. This multidimensional art is a no-maintenance, sustainable wall and decor option to add a touch of greenery without the upkeep of live plants. Bring the green and wooden nature indoors all year round.
Handcrafted from various types of preserved moss, floral, and natural elements with love.
This will be a relaxing, slow paced, and fun preserved moss-terpiece wall art workshop. Design with infused intention. Finished art piece requires no misting and no watering for indoor/outdoor decor.
Most participants will finish their preserved moss art between one to two hours, but we have offered an extended class schedule to relax, take our time to be creative, and enjoy ourselves. Participants will design their own unique landscape framed art using a variety of natural elements through layering different textures and color. Once participants have their design laid out they will secure their design to the box.

About the Artist
Pa Nyia Vang, from the Twin Cities MN, is a multidisciplinary outsider artisan, artist, and writer who works with various mediums over 25 years, with primary focuses on sustainable mixed media visual art-based practices (2D & 3D).
During her childhood and teen years, she would typically find herself tinkering with random experimental odd-and-ends creative ideas way before virtual tutorials and the internet existed -- during those times she only had Channel 2 broadcast and school.
In those days, it was just her own imagination explorations through experiments, learning from educators at school, and Channel 2. These avenues and her mediums was a place of solitude for her in a world where she often felt out of place as a young Hmong American girl in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
In 2022, she founded her studio shop, Atelier Páaj, with her Husband and kids as an avenue to cope and navigate with a series of life's experiences. The multidisciplinary creative skills she was blessed with became an avenue in coping and healing through hope.
What makes this event so special? Pa Nyia travels to different places to collect driftwood and works with local artisans to collect Hmong textile scraps that are upcycled for your art piece.
