Drawing class for adults. This class is structured to explore techniques, materials, and methodology needed to begin drawing with little to no experience! All levels are welcome! For class dates, please visit our website at paintlab.net . Week1 – Introduction and drawing a sphere:
Students will delve into fundamental drawing tools like pencils and paper in this class and master their usage. They will then draw a sphere, gaining insights into distinguishing between cast shadows and form shadows to depict three-dimensional objects effectively.
Week2 – Still Life drawing:
Students will learn to draw still-life objects from real objects. They will learn how to capture shapes and some drawing techniques, such as measuring, shadowing, and hatching, with the goal of accurately drawing multiple objects.
Week3 – Gesture drawing:
Students will learn how to draw the human body with gestures. By understanding the structure and flow of the human body, they aim to draw humans quickly or from imagination. They will start with stick figures and eventually progress to depicting muscles.
Week4 – Portrait drawing:
Students will learn portrait drawing by understanding facial proportions and the structure with different angles. Their goal in this class is to depict human faces accurately.
Week5 – Drawing a whole body:
Students will learn how to draw a human figure from a master’s drawing. Unlike gesture drawings, they will carefully observe the reference and create detailed drawings. They will also learn how to capture shapes accurately and represent values.
Week6 – Personal project :
Utilizing what they’ve learned in previous classes, students will create individual art pieces based on the photos they provide. The instructor will advise them on the techniques necessary to express what they want to draw.
