About this Event
At Boston-Area Singing Circles, we inspire deeper connection to ourselves, each other, and the Earth through song. We believe in the healing, freedom, and joy that can come through communal singing, and aim to make that experience more widely accessible.
About the Circle: This circle is open to all, no matter your relationship with your voice. We weave together simple, repeatable songs that can be taught by ear, call-and-response exercises, and accessible improv activities, and strive to create tiers of participation where singers of all comfort levels can feel welcomed and challenged. We sometimes use movement, meditation, or other somatic practices to aid in our embodiment.
Every voice always matters, but tonight we'll explore what happens when we tune into the embodied experience of that reality as a pathway into singing. We're welcoming our friend and co-conspirator in song, David Ruffin, as a guest circle leader, who'll guide us in deepening our dive into the music.

Documentation: This circle will be audio recorded. This is for the facilitators to be able to listen back to and learn from, and will not be shared publicly. We may take a few candid photos and short video clips for promotional purposes during the circle. If you don't wish to be captured please let us know!
Location: First Church in Cambridge is a 5-minute walk from the Harvard T stop. There is street parking available nearby. Our circle will be in the Harter Room (there will be signs directing you once you arrive indoors).
Bring: a water bottle, and snacks to share if you'd like.
RSVP: We encourage RSVPs through eventbrite to help us plan, but walk-ins are welcome too.
Cost: $5-20 donation to help cover rental fees and other administrative costs for our circles. If you aren't able to contribute at this time, please still come. You can pay through eventbrite, pay cash at the door, or Venmo @jordanmudd.
