Sing Your Heart Out 2 Karaoke Competition

The Capital Region's Premier Singing Competition is back! Join us at "Sing Your Heart Out 2" and show off your vocal talents to compete for $500 while supporting the American Heart Association!

• $50 Entry Fee for Contestants (Everyone else is free!)
• Limited to 15 Contestants
• Open karaoke/warmups start at 7:00 PM ($5.00 donation requested per song for open karaoke - competitors can sing 1 warm up song for free)
• First Round of Competition starts at 8:00 PM
• 2 Rounds of singing
• Three Local Celebrity Judges and the popular vote combine for your score. Top three scores win!

2nd Place: $100 Amazon Gift Card

3rd Place: $50 Lost & Found Bar & Kitchen Gift Card

Audience votes by purchasing ballots which can be used to cast votes for their favorite singer, so bring your biggest entourage to support you!

Official Rules:

1. Contestants will compete in 2 rounds and sing 1 song per round
2. Judges will independently score your performance on a scale of 1-10 in the following categories: (1) Vocal Accuracy (did you sing the right notes); (2) Lyrical Accuracy (did you sing the right words); (3) Overall Entertainment/Performance/Showmanship (did you put on a good show)
3. Your scores will be averaged together for each judge (ex. 9 vocal accuracy + 9 lyrical accuracy +10 overall performance = 9.33 single judge score). All judges scores will then be added together each round (ex. 9.33+8.75+9.25=27.33 combined judges score). At the end of each round, all audience ballots are counted. Top vote getter will receive 10 points, second place vote getter will receive 9.5 points, third place vote getter will receive 9.0 points, etc. with the lowest vote getter will receive 3.0 votes. These points will be added to your combined judges score for your total score per round (27.33 points+8.5 audience points=35.83 points for contestant in that round).
4. In the event of a tie, there will be a sing-off between all contestants who are tied. Same rules above apply to the tie-breaker round.
5. Registration/check-in begins at 6:00 PM and Open Karaoke/Warm-ups begin at 7:00 PM. Please be sure to arrive by 7:30 PM to check in and confirm your attendance.
6. The singing competition begins at 8:00 PM and singing order will be determined randomly shortly before the competition begins. If you do not arrive by the time your name is called to compete in the first round, you will forfeit that round.
7. If you do not arrive by the time your name is called to compete in the second round, you will be considered a no-show and will forfeit the competition.
8. Cancellations with full refund are allowed up until 10/28/2025 at 9:00 PM. After that, all purchases are final and not refundable (it is a charity event after all and your money goes to a great cause).
9. In the event that we do not have enough contestants (minimum of 10), the host reserves the right to cancel the event and all entry fees will be refunded in full.

Thank you for considering joining this event! My name is Karl Meehan and I'm hosting this event in support of my campaign to be the American Heart Association's 2025 Leader of Impact. I am running for the 2025 Leader of Impact because I'm tired of seeing people live with heartbreak due to broken hearts. As a result of heart disease and/or stroke, I have lost my Grandfather in 2001, my Grandmother in 2007, my friend in 2017 and my Mother last year in July. With heart disease being responsible for 1 in every 5 deaths in the United States (according to the NYS Dept. of Health), I want to do my part in helping the American Heart Association raise money for the research of life saving treatments as well as public awareness of how to recognize symptoms of heart disease and stroke so that we can all spend more time with our loved ones.
