Join Voce, Taunton's 16 voice chamber choir, for a one day singing workshop. Musical Director Joe Beckhelling will work with you on a variety different pieces during the day, and members of Voce will be at the workshop to sing alongside you.We'll be looking at 3 pieces, with maybe an extra little surprise if there's time. We'll be looking at an a capella version of Autumn Leaves, the gorgeous jazz standard with English lyrics by Johnny Mercer. Set Me As A Seal Upon Thine Heart, arranged by William Walton offers a different kind of challenge with dramatic modern harmonies. We'll also be heading back to the 80s with an up tempo arrangement of Rick Astley's signature tune, Never Gonna Give You Up.
Choir experience isn't essential, but you should be able to follow music. Under 18s are welcome to join the workshop but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available and included in the ticket price, but do bring a packed lunch.
Tickets are £25. All sheet music is included in the workshop cost and you can keep your copies afterwards.
Please aim to arrive from 10:15 to register, receive your music and get something to drink before we start at 10:30.
