About this Event
Sing Choirs of Angels is a recent addition to our busy Advent calendar and has proved immensely popular. It is a mix of seasonal music, readings and poetry creating a celebratory yet reflective atmosphere ahead of the big day.
The event takes place on Christmas Eve at 4:30pm for all those who cannot make it to Midnight Mass or for those who need a moment to draw breath and reflect in this busiest of times.
The service is open to all, ticketless and free to attend. Registration is not required but it helps us manage numbers and we can send you an email reminder just before the event.
St Bride’s Choir continues the tradition of exploring settings of poetry with a seasonal theme – Gerard Manley Hopkins’s “Bethlehem Star” is the text for a recent composition by Bob Chilcott and we will also be singing the Barn House Carol, with words by Mary Lincoln and music by Tony Britten, and Nicholas O’Neill’s 2002 piece, A Sad Carol for These Distracted Tymes.
A pre-recorded version of the service will air online at the service time on our website and on our YouTube channel. All registering will also receive a direct link to the online service.

Here's a little musical taster of St Bride's Choir as they sing composer Michael Head's most enduring work, The Little Road to Bethlehem. A beautiful setting of a touching poem by Margaret Rose.
