***ANNOUNCING A NEW DATE***Join the Buncombe County Special Collections Library to learn about the history of the Asheville Motor Speedway, a .4 mi track located at now Carrier Park!
From 1960 until the final checkered flag on September 17, 1999, watching and participating in stock car races at AMS was a beloved pastime for many across WNC.
This event is all about inviting community members to share their stories and memories with each other and the archive.
The event will take place at the picnic shelter at Carrier Park at 220 Amboy Road. Attendance is FREE and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
