Aretha Franklin reigns as the unequivocal Queen of Soul whose voice could effortlessly ascend to the celestial heights. Not only did she possess musical brilliance but also a sharp wit and a strong personality. The two Queens were also reportedly "heated rivals in life". Whatever the truth may be, both artists had a significant impact on the musical landscape and live on as legends in their own right.
