Global rock icons Simple Minds will be bringing their world-class live show to Cornwall for the first time in 40 years. And they’ll really be here, at The Wyldes in 2024.Formed in the seventies, Simple Minds are one of the most successful bands ever to come from the UK, having sold over 60 million records worldwide, collected awards, and shot straight to the top of the music charts with their singles and albums.
With five UK number one albums under their belts, Simple Minds have received glittering acclaim for their work throughout their career, and in more recent years have seen a resurgence in popularity with audiences all over the world gathering in their thousands to see the band perform their well-known hits including ‘Promised You a Miracle’, ‘Glittering Prize’, ‘Someone Somewhere in Summertime’, ‘Waterfront’, ‘Alive and Kicking’, ‘Sanctify Yourself’ and ‘Don’t You Forget About Me’, with the group consistently regarded as one of the best live outfits of their generation. Referring to their 2022 Wembley Arena concert The Times said ‘back in fashion and on thrilling form’.
Simple Minds have received universal critical acclaim for their recent albums, with MOJO Magazine describing their 2015 release ‘Big Music’ as ‘their best album in 30 years’. In 2018, Simple Minds performed on their largest US tour to date, and their 2022 release ‘Direction Of The Heart’ launched into the top of album charts in the UK and internationally. To top it all, the band have also been awarded a Q Awards Lifetime Achievement award for their music.

The Wyldes is a versatile and unique 10,000 capacity outdoor venue and events site in a wooded valley, close to the North Cornwall coast. Home to crowds of dedicated music fans, some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, a focus on values and community, and a warm Cornish welcome. Each summer The Wyldes host a series of hugely popular one night events featuring the biggest and best headline acts, an afternoon of top notch supporting artists, overnight camping and glamping, street food and a festival feel.

Four-piece female-fronted band Coach Party will take to the stage with songs that offer a fresh, loud take on real life and confronting your own inner demons. Described by The Guardian as 'poppy witty and experimental' and by NME as having a 'joyous, pint-spilling brand of indie rock', Coach Party take inspiration from a broad palette of artists including Nirvana, Sonic youth and The Strokes, as well as newer influences like Wolf Alice, The Big Moon and Tame Impala, and they are guaranteed to bring something new to the table.
