Simple Alterations
Making alterations to store-bought clothes can be tricky. We'll break it down into simple techniques. Most of these techniques are for shortening ready-made garments, but we'll have time at the end to talk about taking things in.
In our first session, we will talk about hemming pants: blind hems, topstitched hems, and jeans. The second session will focus on sleeves, including simple knit edges and cuffs.
Our last session will cover shortening straps and sleeveless tops, plus time spent identifying fit issues.
Please bring your sewing machine and pedal in good working order to the first class, along with your favorite tools (seam ripper, pins, little scissors, etc). I'll have basic tools on hand, and some garments to practice on.
