Simon Lasky
Simon Laskyis a British jazz pianist and composer recognized for his 2018 Ivors Composer Award and recent honors including Creative Loafing Best of the Bay Awards (2024) and a 2025 Palladium Creative Fellowship. His music has been performed at prestigious venues like London’s Barbican Hall and Wigmore Hall, broadcast on BBC Radio and NPR, and praised for its melodic, atmospheric style influenced by the Pat Metheny Group.
After relocating to Tampa, Florida in 2018 to study with Grammy-nominated composer Chuck Owen, Lasky has become a central figure in the Tampa Bay jazz scene, leading the Simon Lasky Group in sold-out concerts across Florida. His latest album, For the Dreamers (Ubuntu Music, 2024), received rave reviews and extensive radio play in both the U.S. and Europe.
He is also an educator and clinician, serving as adjunct faculty at the University of South Florida and Hillsborough Community College, while continuing to perform internationally.
