About Simon Doty
Simon Doty’s origins from Canada’s Western wilderness to a college basketball shooting guard may seem like an unlikely path for the emergence of a finely tuned electronic artist. A self-taught gear master ‘whiz kid’ with a profound understanding of musical composition and engineering, Simon has earned the ear of his peers and heroes alike.
After years mastering his sound and ascending the ranks of the underground circuit, Doty’s breakthrough debut LP ‘Universal Language’ on Anjunadeep was released in 2023 and supported by a world tour featuring over 60 dates. Marquee performances at electronic music’s top venues including Brooklyn Mirage, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Gorge Amphitheatre, Savaya Bali and Fabric London highlight a year of live milestones for the Canadian talent. The momentum continues with the inception of his new imprint Recess, remixes on choice labels, and a follow up album in the works.
Characterized by gritty analog synthesis, evocative melodies, and powerful driving grooves; his signature sound has earned Simon a bonafide spot among the industry’s most respected producers. An increasingly coveted remixer and engineer, Doty continues to showcase an elite command of his craft and a steadfast pursuit of progress.
