Silversmithing for Beginners - Single Day Workshop

This is a one day adult workshop at Abbey House on Monday the 10th of February 2025, where you will learn the basics of the ancient art of silversmithing.
During the morning you will be taught about soldering, shaping, cutting, polishing and basic stone and bead setting.
In the afternoon you will choose a silver jewellery project to complete from a selection of: a ring, a hammered pendant or earrings. Some silver and a gemstone are provided and you will be able to purchase more silver if required.
A place on the workshop will cost £95, including materials and as places are limited advance booking is essential. Tea and coffee (and biscuits) will be provided but please bring a packed lunch with you to the workshop.
Tutor Sharon Honeywell is an artist with extensive knowledge and skills in a number of disciplines, working with clay, willow, silver and drawing techniques. While she holds an honours degree in Fine Art, she is also a postgraduate trained educator with years of experience teaching in schools, colleges and private tuition.
