This is a short course suitable for beginners, making a pair of silver stacking rings.
During this session you will get to practise some of the traditional silversmith techniques needed to create two simple but lovely stacking rings. This course will give you a taste of working in a metal work shop, using traditional tools and techniques. A brilliant taster for anyone who is interested in the mechanics of metal work.
If you would like to attend the course and make the rings for someone else, please let me know as I have some easy to use ring sizes which I can post out in advance so that you can make their size for them.
During this course you will practise the following;
Measuring your chosen finger and sizing your ring
Using a jewellers saw to cut your silver to measure
Soldering and shaping the silver wire into a circle
Sanding and clean up of solder joint
Adding texture and patterns using a variety of techniques
Finishing and polishing ring.
