Have you ever picked up a leaf or shell and wanted to make your own silver jewellery with it but are not sure where to start? Then this class could be for you. In this class we immerse ourselves in learning how to use natural items such as leaves, flowers, shells and fossils with metal clay to turn them into items of jewellery. You will learn how to shape, process, fire and finish your pieces with a few simple tools and a variety of techniques to capture the beauty of a natural item in silver. Metal clay is a wonderful material and an accessible way to create your own jewellery at home and I want to give you the skills to do this after you leave the workshop. Workshop includes 10g of silver clay, 10g silver clay paste, a chain for your pendants and ear wires for earrings (if making). This will be enough to make three to four pieces depending on size. This is suitable for beginners or anyone wanting to learn more about making their own jewellery. I’ll provide plenty of inspiration and examples to help you design and make your pieces. All you need to bring is curiosity and a desire to take a few hours for yourself making something beautiful! You are also welcome to bring along a special treasure of your own that you would like to use in your jewellery piece.
