Join us for a Hike at Silver Bluff Audubon Sanctuary Part of ALC’s Monthly Hike SeriesThe next hike in the ALC Hike Series will take place at the Silver Bluff Audubon Sanctuary. We will be hiking the two-mile-long Tanager Trail. The Tanager Trail winds through longleaf pine forest, mixed pine-hardwood forest, and even a tupelo swamp. If time allows, we will stop briefly at Kathwood Ponds to look for additional wildlife species.
Winter may seem like a slow time for wildlife, but Aiken Land Conservancy Executive Director, Peter Kleinhenz, will lead a hike to observe the surprising amount of wildlife species active at this time of year. The two-mile hike will start at the parking area, and loop through the many habitat types on a mostly-flat trail.
