Artisans have been using the batik dyeing process to create gorgeous fabric designs for hundreds of years. Now you have the opportunity to learn the technique of using Tjap tools to apply hot wax and special dyes to hand sewn silk scarves. Instructor Ellen Ridenour, who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University, will guide us in learning the basics of silk-on-silk batik printing while creating our own one-of-a-kind scarf design. Join us Saturday, November 15th from 1-4pm. The cost for the workshop is $75. Supplies for the workshop will be provided. Extra scarves can be purchased the day of the workshop for an additional $10 each paid directly to Ellen.
