Who knew that someday the Silk Roads would lead right to our house in Ann Arbor? The Roadhouse is honored to welcome food writer and Detroit native Anna Ansari and her debut cookbook, Silk Roads—A Flavor Odyssey with recipes from Baku to Beijing. Do not miss this opportunity to be among the very first to own this much-anticipated book and meet the author in person right here in Ann Arbor!
Raised in metro Detroit but living now in London, England, Anna is an Iranian-American and a former international trade attorney. A longtime Zingerman’s devotee, she brings both local roots and global perspective to her work. With degrees from Columbia University and Yale University, Anna’s writing focuses on the intersection of food, family, and history, with special attention to the immigrant experience and foods of the Asian continent. She is particularly interested in the ways food, flavors, and ingredients move across borders, carried in the memories and pockets of travelers and transplants.
The Roadhouse is counting down the days until we can welcome Anna and enjoy some of her favorites from the Silk Road cookbook. The book will be published only days before this event, so we will be among the first to purchase copies and have them signed by Anna before she returns to London!
Seats are limited; book soon for this one-night-only homecoming celebration of food, history and story.
