What will I learn?Silk painting is easy to learn, therapeutic and fun with amazingly instant colourful results.
The aim of the workshop is to introduce the student to the basic techniques of this craft covering the following topics:
● Introduction to materials needed
● Transfer of design on to silk
● Stretching the silk
● Application of outliner/gutta
● Colour mixing, diluting and blending
● Salt technique
● Painting
● Free style painting
● Colour fixing.
Is this course for me?
The workshop is suitable for all abilities, including absolute beginners; all you need is a passion for colours.
What do I need to bring?
Materials to use on the day will be supplied by the tutor.
An additional fee of £7 per student should be paid to the tutor at the beginning of the session to cover the cost of materials.
Please do not purchase materials more than 7 days before the course is due to start.
If this course runs over lunchtime, please bring your own packed lunch.
