Silent Supper Pot Luck Dinner October 30th 6-8pm
For the second year in Rockport, Apothecary Suil Crow will be conducting a Silent Supper. This year, the silent supper will be taking place at The Emerson Inn By The Sea in Rockport on the eve before Halloween (Samhain) Wednesday October 30th 6-8pm
This year‘s silent supper is Olde World Style. You will be baking/cooking your loved ones favorite meal that you wish to share with them as their spirit sits across from you at our table, and enjoying a preordered meal from The Emerson Inn By The Sea!
Upon arrival we will go over the rules of the silent supper, and you will leave your letter to your loved one at the “chair for the dead” at the head of the table, this letter will be burned on Samhain at midnight. Then as a group we will conduct an opening ritual to open the gates to welcome the dead to dine with us as you hold your meal that you will share with them in your hands.
You will then find your seat and wait for all guests to be seated - at this time the rest of the night except closing the meal will be in silence. Once everyone is seated Rebeccah High Priestess and owner of Apothecary Suil Crow will motion for you to plate your meal on your loved ones spot. Once you plate the food you will light your candle that is provided and relax and envision your loved one present with you. Once everyone’s candles are lit you will pick up your glass and drink of choice (there will be wine and water available) and toast the “Death Chair” and the chair of the spirit you wish to connect with. Then your meal will begin.
The meal will be done in silence until we close the circle and do our ritual thanking them for coming. At which time you can stay and enjoy conversation and share if you would like about your experiences during your meal.
What you might experience at this meal.
Whispering, animals coming by, wind increasing, hot and cold spots, a feeling of touching on shoulders - hands - neck - back or feet, singing, dogs barking, and so much more. Each of these experiences are for you. You will also feel emotions and you may cry or laugh this is normal.
