Authenticity: Discovering the Truth of Who We AreTBC Vesak Silent Retreat
May 15th - May 18, 2024
with Robert Brumet and Victor J. Dougherty
Unhappiness can occur when we are not living our lives in a way that is congruent with our authentic selves. Many of us get stuck on the proverbial "hamster wheel" of life--an endless cycle of work and household responsibilities and obligations. Seldom do we pause to reflect about who we really are or why we do what we do. The lack of deeper meaning or connection to our work and life roles causes us to shift into autopilot--a state of unconsciousness and stagnation.
Join Temple Buddhist Center, on the beautiful grounds of the King Conference Center, as we dive deeply into the nature of mind and discover the truth of living authentically.
This four-day retreat will be led by Robert Brumet, Victor J. Dougherty with additional support from TBC Staff. The retreat will be hybrid and begins 7pm Wed. May 15th (optional dinner @5)
& ends 4pm Sat. May 18th.
Residential: Those attending are asked to keep the noble silence at all times except when speaking with the instructors. Please refrain from email, texting, reading, or any activities that may engage the thinking mind.
Commuter & virtual: If you live with others, please make arrangements for them to honor your practice or, if possible, find a place where you can be alone the entire time. Commuters are also asked to follow the general retreat guidelines when returning home.

There will be periods of instruction and teacher conferences.
