Silent Reading Parties started at a bar in Seattle, but quickly became popular across the country. The premise is simple: choose any book that you would like to read, sit and enjoy it in a group with quiet music, and then have some time to share with your neighbors about what you read.Bring a book and join us for some reading time in our beautiful Fellowship space, also known as “Salem’s Living Room”. There will be snacks, time to talk about our books, and plenty of time to read. If the weather’s chilly, we will have a crackling fire in our fireplace. Bring whatever you are reading (all books and formats welcome!), along with a blanket, cushion, or anything else that would make you feel comfortable.
This is a monthly event that happens on the second Thursday of every month, until we take a break for the summer.
