About this Event
Many of us are familiar with Cecil B. DeMille’s The Ten Commandments starring Charlton Heston. Believe it or not, this 1956 film is a remake of DeMille’s silent classic of the same name! The 1923 original is a two-part film: a prologue recounts the biblical story of the exodus from Egypt, and a second part presents a “modern-day” morality play that follows two brothers, one who follows the ten commandments, on one who doesn’t. Come witness the spectacle of this 1920’s silent film while listening to live improvised accompaniment on St. Peter’s mighty Peragallo pipe organ. Boston-based organist extraordinaire, Peter Krasinski, will be our organist. This free event (donations gratefully welcomed) is being presented as part of St. Peter’s 175 Anniversary. Come celebrate with us!
