What is ecstatic dance?
It’s a dance/movement practice to explore the feeling of moving your body freely, inspired by sound, though you don’t actually have to move in time with the music. You are invited to move…play…connect…sweat…stretch…unwind…release…improvise…transform.
What happens at an ecstatic dance?
It is a free-form dance practice where participants gather to dance to music without needing to follow the instructions of a leader. In Ecstatic Dance the music is the leader and participants are free to weave their way through the different soundscapes, expressing themselves through movement.
The music encourages a gradual warming up, towards a more energetic sound inspiring a more dynamic flow of energy, which then steadies and slows to become more meditative and restful.
Are there suggested guidelines?
To encourage an authentic experience of your body and emotions, participants are asked to:
* be free. dance how you want. no judgement.
* be present. no phones. no cameras.
* be clear. no intoxicants.
* be embodied. no talking.
What are the benefits associated with ecstatic dance?
- Stress relieving
- Increases positive energy levels
- Improves physical health and flexibility
- Encourages emotional expression
- Allows for a spirituality exploration
- Improves mind-body connection

Why use silent disco headphones?
Using silent disco headphones enable participants to personalise music volume, feel surrounded by the music, and even take the dance outside…as the headphones can play music anywhere on the 2 1/2 acre site.
How do I book and how much does a session cost?
Sessions cost just £11 per person, or £9 when part of a 5 class pass (costing £45, to be used within 2 months). Book your place by sending a PM or email to [email protected].
