About this Event
We are honored to invite you to a pivotal evening at Silenced and Forgotten, where we will confront the urgent challenges facing the Muslim community in the wake of the recent election results.
Over the next four years, we anticipate intensified Islamophobia, increased government overreach, and a growing assault on our rights. This event is not just a gathering—it is a call to action. Together, we will highlight the essential work of the MLFA, including our unwavering support for Pro-Palestine student protestors. As these brave individuals face retaliation, we are standing by their side, defending their rights, and holding universities accountable in court. Join us for an evening of inspiration, resilience, and collective commitment to ensuring our community's strength and justice in these critical times.
The evening will feature an inspiring lineup of keynote speakers whose work embodies resilience, advocacy, and creativity. Sana Saeed, an award-winning media critic with over 15 years of experience, is known for her incisive analysis of U.S. media, foreign policy, and Palestine, including her work on Backspace and The Israeli Occupation Style Guide. Yasmin Elhady, an attorney and celebrated comedian, has performed at The Kennedy Center and appeared on NBC’s True Story and NPR. Irfan Khan, a former MLFA client, will debut The Art of Uncomfortable Truths, a powerful collection of drawings sharing his journey of resilience as a falsely accused and imprisoned man.
