This autumn, 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗵 is touring the Low Countries. First with Paal Nilssen-Love’s Circus, then under her own banner. Twice she will touch down at Walter. Emmeluth is a key figure in today’s Scandinavian improvised music scene. Born in Denmark, she now leaves her mark as a saxophonist and composer mainly on the music in Berlin. Together with Karl Bjorå, Christian Balvig and Ole Mofjell, she forms the Norwegian-Danish quartet Amoeba, a band with which she has developed an almost anarchic sound. At Südtirol Jazz this past July, they performed new pieces from the album now being released. Impressive and to the point, full speed ahead — that’s how Dick Hovenga summed up the set for Written in Music.

Belgian saxophonist 𝗢𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗡𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘁 and drummer 𝗘𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗹𝗳𝘀𝗼𝗻, with Summer Hour, build an intimate, hour-long dialogue. Bebop, modal and experimental jazz gently flow together with subtle percussion, creating a cinematic space full of tension and poetry.
