About this Event
Celebrating Black History Month (Feb 1 - Mar 1)!
Join Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe's Jazzlinks Ensemble for a special performance that takes you on a trip back to the “Harlem Renaissance”, featuring music by jazz icons like Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and Cab Calloway.
About Jazzlinks
One of several educational programs offered by WBTT, JazzLinks brings to life some of the experiences of African Americans during specific eras in history (e.g., The Harlem Renaissance, U.S. military during WWII, and The Civil Rights Movement). It allows us to acknowledge many significant contributions, remember where we’ve been, and educate newer generations so that history is not forgotten.
About Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe
The mission of Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) is to produce professional theatre that promotes and celebrates African American history and experiences, engages a broad base of patrons and audiences, supports the development of a dynamic group of aspiring artists, and builds self-esteem in youth of color.
