Our in-store events programme continues with a vist from Joran van Gremberghe, the man behind one of our favourite Eurorack brands, Joranalogue.
Joran and his team in Belgium have been behind some of the finest analogue designs to grace the Eurorack scene in the past few years, from the dual window comparator you didn’t know you needed, Compare 2, to the best-in-class slew limiter/function generator, Contour 1, and the innovative step sequencer/shift register hybrid, Step 8.
The latest product to emerge from their lab is Collide 4, made in collaboration with YouTube sensation and musician Hainbach. Based around the kind of lock-in amplifiers traditionally used in nuclear test equipment, Collide 4 is unlike anything else seen before in Eurorack, combining pre-amplification, filtering, oscillation, ring modulation and frequency shifting in one powerful module. Whether you’re processing external audio or using it as a synth voice in its own right, this thing sounds sublime. Check out Tom’s demo to whet your appetite.
At this Signal Sounds soiree, Joran will demo Collide 4, explain the back story to the collaboration, and share more about Joranalogue’s unique design approach. There will be a Q&A so you can pick his brain on anything to do with Joranalogue or analogue synths in general.
