About this Event
Experience , an exhibition showcasing the historical, cultural, and creative connections of Asian Americans to Washington, D.C. And join us every second Saturday of the month for Sightlines Saturdays!
For decades, Washington, D.C., has been a hub for Asian American leadership at the local, national, and global levels. This month's feature program highlights the stories of organizers who have shaped and continue to shape their communities in different ways. Featured speakers will share their journeys as leaders and engage in a moderated discussion. Exploring how leadership and advocacy have evolved across generations, speakers will demonstrate the many forms of leadership--through neighborhood organizing, labor rights advocacy, and elected office.
Start the day with our in-gallery program and enjoy a guided tour of the Sightlines exhibition at noon, then participate in a hands-on activity from 1-3 p.m., creating a personal artwork on intergenerational connections related to the exhibition's "Transforming Tradition" theme on martial arts.
