Limited handler places due to venues 2 day intensive and advanced detection course
Wesley Visscher & Georgie Armstrong - Scent Imprint For Dogs.
This 2 day course will enable handlers to progress and learn new skills working their detection dogs.
Our aim is to have a smaller group of handlers so that the dogs can work more and we can create challenges for handlers.
We will have different venues and environments each day to challenge the dogs and handlers.
We will work on handling, tasking the dog, how your body language affects your dog and working an operational area.
Wesley is the owner of Scent Imprint For Dogs (SIFD)
He has produced dogs through his unique puppy programme for a wide variety of disciplines including explosive and narcotic detection dogs, Trailing and Tracking dogs and also conservation dogs.
SIFD provide dogs to a variety of organisations such as the police, security and customs all over the world.
Georgie has a background with search and rescue dogs, she has a VR dog that works on land and also on a boat for drown victims.
She has also got dogs working in Detection.
Georgie is frequently travelling to Holland to train with SIFD and also works with Wesley alot in the UK.
She is the highest level of SIFD instructor.
She also co founded Detection Dog Trials.
To get the most out of this workshop your dog will need to be working on an odour and have a clear indication.
You can come to any K9BT workshops to progress your dog prior to this event.
They can be beginner or Advanced
You need to bring your dogs highest motivator/s: favourite treats and/or toy.
Dogs should not watch each other while working, so make sure that your dog is comfortable resting in the car between your sessions, has plenty of water etc.
The venues have plenty of space to let your dogs have a break, lots of different areas to work in with plenty of room as a spectator to see the dogs whilst they work and hear the advice being given to the handler.
Handler cost for the 2 days is £225
