In her first twenty-five years alone, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Sierra Hull hit more milestones than many musicians accomplish in a lifetime. After making her Grand Ole Opry debut at the age of ten, the Tennessee-bred virtuoso mandolinist played Carnegie Hall at age twelve, then landed a deal with Rounder Records a year later. Today, Hull — a two-time Grammy-nominated artist and six-time recipient of IBMA’s Mandolin Player of the Year — has graced the country’s most iconic stages, including the East Room of the White House. Her collaborations with legendary musicians are endless, from Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton and Béla Fleck to the Indigo Girls, Garth Brooks and Gillian Welch. Through these collaborations, she has earned praise as a true master of her instrument, but also honed a unique sound that has placed her in a genre-defying category of acoustic music’s most inventive artists.
